This is a very light preview of an extensive Instagram redesign I conceived a few years ago. The concept behind the redesign focuses on the idea that Instagram should be a pocket art gallery rather than just another social network. This was before other aspect ratios and other modern features were added. In my concept, square photos are the focus, captions and text fade away to let users experience photos for themselves without any sort of manipulation by carefully written captions. Today however, this concept wouldn't work with Instagram, but better applies to the service VSCO.
